Sports Bra Sample Checklist for Private Label Buyers

Use this checklist before approving a sports bra sample for production, especially when the style depends on support, cup placement, stretch recovery and size grading.

Quick answer: Check band stability, strap comfort, coverage, cup placement, fabric recovery, wash behavior, logo durability, size grading and movement performance before approving a sports bra sample.

Activewear samples prepared for buyer review
Sports bra samples need fit and movement review, not only photo approval.

Fit checks on body

Start with the under-bust band. It should feel secure, sit level around the body and stay in place when arms move. If the band rides up, curls or digs, the rest of the support system will not perform correctly.

Then check straps, armholes and neckline coverage. Straps should hold without cutting into the shoulder. Armholes should not rub. The neckline should match the intended activity: low-impact yoga can be more open, while training and running need more coverage.

Movement checks

Ask the wearer to bend, twist, jump lightly and raise both arms. Look for pad shifting, neckline gaping, side spillage, underarm rubbing and band movement. A sample that feels fine while standing can fail during movement.

If the bra is part of a set, test it with the matching legging or short to confirm the compression and color story feel consistent.

Construction and fabric checks

Wash and size set review

Wash at least one sample before approval. Check whether cups fold, pads shift, fabric twists, seams pucker or color changes. If the design will sell across a broad size range, request size set samples before bulk approval.

FAQ

What is the most important sports bra sample check?

Band stability is usually the first check because it controls much of the support. The band should stay in place without rolling, riding up or feeling painfully tight.

Should I test only one sports bra sample size?

One sample can confirm direction, but size set samples are safer when the style covers multiple cup or body sizes, or when medium-to-high support is promised.

Should sports bra samples be washed before approval?

Yes. Wash testing helps reveal fabric recovery, pad shifting, color behavior, seam puckering and logo durability before bulk production.
